About

CAMILA DIXON

Camila is a Los Angeles based makeup artist (but she's is always open to traveling). While she is passionate about makeup and beauty in all forms, editorial and engaging campaign work holds a special enchantment over her glitter and pigment speckled soul.

She also firmly believes that the best work comes from collaboration with other talented creatives. So are you a photographer looking to work with a new MUA, a model with a vision in mind, a hairstylist with a dreamy mood board, a set designer with a shoot idea? Get in touch!

TIDBITS
-
I love to watch videos of deep sea creatures to jumpstart the imagination.
-
Experience a massive lighting and thunderstorm in monsoon season in the Sonoran desert for something magical. Smell the mesquite trees, the creosote plants, the warm rich scents of the earth. Just avoid the cholla, becoming a human pincushion is less invigorating.
-
Apricots, passionfruit, and tart yet sweet things make the world a better place. So do salty carbs.
-
Inspiring people, experiences, and things: the artwork of James Jean, Danessa Myricks, The Makeup Show, James Vincent, Shelly Taggar, Lijha Stewart and Yvonne MacInnis, reading next to a crackling fire, the diversity of texture and color in a natural setting that engages you.
-
Engaging non-fiction reads for the nature/science/adventure/history curious:
-
The Wave: In Pursuit of the Rogues, Freaks and Giants of the Ocean by Susan Casey
-
The Devil's Teeth: A True Story of Obsession and Survival Among America's Great White Sharks by Susan Casey
-
A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson
-
The Age of Wonder by Richard Holmes

Break the ice at your next coffee date by asking your date if they would be willing to share a silly photo of themselves that makes them smile or a piece of folklore that has stuck with them.
-
Hold onto the joy from laughing so hard you can't speak.
